Internship Office
In 2024, the internship office ACES was established in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Administration Office (Geschäftsstelle Maschinenbau GSMB).
In general, you have 2 possibilities to recognize your internship:
- Recognition of former work experience that was gained BEFORE your study degree program ACES (especially for master students)
OR - Recognition of an internship that was conducted DURING your study degree program ACES
For documents that are not in English or German language, please add a certified translation.
You can submit your documents in our “Internship Office Online” system:

Please submit your documents in our “Internship Office Online” by clicking on “+ Add internship section”, then choosing the menu entry “Recognition of a relevant professional activity – specialist internship” and upload the following documents:

- Certificate of employment (Arbeitszeugnis)
- Bachelor’s degree certificate (for master students)

- Internship certificate (Praktikumszeugnis)
- Bachelor’s degree certificate (for master students)
- Internship presentation (Präsentation von Praktikumsinhalten), must be signed by you and the company where you conducted your internship

You will find a letter with general information regarding the internship for ACES Master here (only available in German). You can submit this letter to the company where you will do your internship.
List of companies (status 04.2025)
This list serves as a guide. All information is therefore without guarantee. It does not claim to be complete.
Therefore, other suitable companies, naturally also in regions other than those listed here, can also be used for the internship. Before applying to a company, it is recommended that you find out about the areas of activity they offer.
Activities in your own company or in a company close to your family (parents, partner, siblings, etc.) cannot be recognized.
Not suitable – regardless of their size – are craft businesses in the maintenance and service sector that do not carry out production in the industrial sense. For the same reason, work in higher education or state institutions is not recognized.
Please let us know if, for example, companies are no longer willing to take on Interns or if there are any other changes so that we can update the list of companies.
